I am a graduate student investigating the ecological energetics of climate change for tropical sharks. In other words, I am interested in understanding how and why climate change might affect how sharks perform tasks related to survival and reproduction in environments that are already quite hot. My previous research into the ecological physiology of fishes has focused on understanding the energetic costs, physiological stress, and behavioral responses of sharks to capture, including the implementation of bycatch reduction devices.
